About Us

INAW is an independent educational initiative which provides opportunity towards greater in-depth understanding between our Policy-makers in Wales and the worlds of Business, Industry and Commerce.

INAW delivers hands-on learning opportunities to Policy-makers and Business representatives through exchanges, seminars, visits and placements throughout Wales.

Welsh Assembly Members, Researchers and Government Officials have benefited from  opportunities to learn ‘first hand’ from exemplar businesses that vigorously pursue the ethos of Corporate Social Responsibility.

With greater devolved powers and continuing growth in regulation, the fast moving business environment, and the cyclical nature of the parliamentary calendar, there is an increasing need for INAWs activities in helping inform the legislative processes of Wales.

Our Vision

The INAW vision promotes greater understanding and ethical, mutually beneficial relationships between Parliamentarians in Wales and business communities, towards well-informed policies and efficient administration for public benefit.

Our mission is to facilitate educational services that -

  • Enable policy-makers in Wales to learn directly from the business community, how it operates, generates and delivers value, so that they may appreciate and take proper account of the impact of legislation on business and commerce.
  • Enable businesses of all sizes and sectors to learn directly from Assembly Members and Officials about the procedures of Welsh, UK and EU Parliaments so that they may understand how legislation is drafted, scrutinised and enacted.
  • Enable Civil Servants as the drafters and facilitators of legislation that impacts on business, to gain a thorough understanding of the Wales parliamentary process.

 Our Values

  • INAW is non-party political and invites all parliamentarians and policy-makers to participate in its activities.
  • INAW is a strictly non-lobbying organisation, and no company or parliamentarian may seek to derive direct benefit or preferment from its involvement.
  • INAW is mutually educational and informative, and has the support and involvement of all political parties in the Welsh Assembly and representatives from the business community.
  • INAW is open to businesses of any sector or size that are fully committed to Corporate Social Responsibility.
  • INAW promotes mutual trust and understanding between our policy-makers in Wales and Business.
  • INAW is collaborative and seeks to work in partnership with others if this will deliver greater benefit.
